About the Recipe

Indulge in the perfect blend of bold black tea and sweet, chewy boba pearls for a refreshing, homemade treat that's both comforting and fun.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups brewed black tea (strong and bold flavor)

  • 1 cup boba pearls (tapioca pearls)

  • 4 tbsp brown sugar (or sweetener of choice)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • 4 cups cold milk (dairy or plant-based)

  • Ice cubes

Preparation

  • Cook the Boba Pearls:

    • In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

    • Add the boba pearls and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    • Once cooked, drain and rinse the pearls under cold water to remove excess starch.

  • Brew the Black Tea:

    • Brew 4 cups of black tea using your preferred method (hot steep or cold brew).

    • Let the tea cool to room temperature or chill it in the fridge.

  • Sweeten the Tea:

    • In a separate bowl, mix the cooked boba pearls with 4 tbsp of brown sugar. Let them soak to absorb sweetness.

  • Assemble:

    • Fill 4 glasses with ice.

    • Add 1 cup of brewed black tea to each glass.

    • Pour in 1 cup of your preferred milk.

    • Add the sweetened boba pearls to each glass.

    • Optionally, add a splash of vanilla extract for extra flavor.

  • Serve and Enjoy:

    • Stir gently to mix everything together.

    • Top with a fun boba straw and enjoy your delicious Boba Black Tea!
